We are continuing to grow, and are looking for a Buyer to join our team.
The Buyer will work under direction and supervision from the Director of Procurement for all purchasing assignments of parts and services for assigned commodities. The Buyer will perform processes indicated by the ERP system, professional knowledge and experience and other sources of information and direction. These activities can include quoting, supplier selection, processing purchase orders, executing reschedule messages, resolving receiving and invoice issues, quality related actions, supplier evaluation, commercial communications, and similar tasks in the procurement cycle. This position will work with Clever Devices Quality Control to ensure parts meet specified requirements. The Buyer will routinely identify and qualify new Suppliers and participate in cost reduction programs.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Perform the following conventional, but not limited to, purchasing tasks:
- Place orders for assigned parts and commodities as indicated by planning information and similar requests and directives. Ensure appropriate approvals.
- Maintain and ensure delivery dates for planned purchases. Expedite as required.
- Update and maintain Purchase Orders in the ERP system with current and valid information.
- Verify Supplier acknowledgments to Purchase Order details.
- Process MRP exception messages.
- Expedite material through receiving and inspection, when requested.
- Resolve PO, Invoice, and related discrepancies which prevent completion of a purchase order.
- Maintain supplier details in computer system.
- Responsible for ensuring purchased material costs are consistent with planned costs while maintaining appropriate quality levels and delivery requirements.
- Responsible for establishing and developing commercial relationships with Clever Devices supply base.
- Assist with any queries regarding status of critical items for production commitments. • Other tasks, as may be assigned.
Skills Required:
- Minimum of Associates degree (A.A.S.) required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 4+ years purchasing experience required. Relevant internship experience may also be considered.
- Must possess a high level of organization and problem-solving skills.
- Must be able to communicate effectively, including negotiations with suppliers.
- Must be able to communicate across all levels of Clever Devices.
- The ability to work in a team environment is imperative.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines in a complete manner.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize.
- Intermediate to advanced level skills in MS Office (Excel, Word, etc.) and experience with MRP/ERP programs such as Microsoft Dynamics.
