SUMMARY: Perform general maintenance on production and non-production machinery, including facility, mechanical and electrical systems. This position works closely with other departments to monitor maintenance needs and address immediate operational/ safety concerns.

  • Responsible for all aspects of equipment and building maintenance under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor
  • Complies with safety, environmental, GMP rules and all policies, codes, and state/federal regulations applicable to position and company. Follows departmental direction and adheres to all product specifications, HAACP, GMP’s, Food Safety and Quality Programs
  • Ensures all production equipment is in continuous operational condition following Preventative Maintenance Programs and schedules
  • Conducts pre-op inspection, diagnostics, and calibration on all processing equipment to meet required specifications
  • Performs troubleshooting and repairs utilizing appropriate tools, manufacturer’s technical manuals and wiring schematics
  • Maintains maintenance equipment and all company issued tools in great condition
  • Assists senior technicians in the installation of major production equipment and components
  • Coordinates with Maintenance Supervisor to complete projects and work orders efficiently
  • Completes all required documentation in a timely manner (Work Orders, Issue logs, PM checklist)
  • Follows post-maintenance procedures and ensure the work area is clean and hazard-free
  • Performs minor facility maintenance (office equipment, lighting, ventilation, plumbing)
  • Provides emergency support for unscheduled maintenance repairs on an on-call basis
  • Attends all trainings applicable to position approved by management
  • Performs other related tasks as assigned

REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS:

  • Represents the company brand image and shares aloha to all customers, business partners, and co-workers at all levels throughout the company
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous maintenance experience in mechanical and/or manufacturing field
  • 1-2 years maintenance experience with food processing equipment is a plus
  • Proficiency reading schematic drawings, diagrams, mechanical handbooks, and manuals
  • Ability to work safely, efficiently, and well with others and independently
  • Possesses basic mathematical skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
  • Able to plan and manage projects effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Occasionally upgrade skill set to meeting changing job conditions

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Able to work in a typical industrial facility, which includes working with and around large machinery, variations in temperature, sound (decibels), odors, humidity, and elevations
  • While performing duties, some areas are often hot with steam and vapor from oven
  • Workspace is restricted and employees are expected to remain standing for long periods
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. and rarely move or transfer more than 50 lbs. with assistance
  • Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, grasping, bending, stooping, and squatting and some repetitive motions
  • Able to sit, stand and walk throughout an 8 to 10-hour shift
  • Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision 20 inches or less, (i.e., working with small objects or reading small print), including use of computers. Distance vision of 20 feet or more (not just the ability to see a person or object, but the ability to recognize features as well, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Peripheral vision observing an area that can be seen up and down or to right or left while eyes are fixed on a given point
  • Specific hearing abilities include the ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and/or other sounds (e.g., forklifts, packaging, machinery alarms), medical codes or alarms and communication purposes)
  • Wear protective gear (uniform), including gloves, face/eye shields, aprons, hearing protection, hairnets, beard nets, etc.

Able to work flexible hours and overtime as required, including nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours
