Dock Lead

We are currently seeking a reliable and experienced Dock Lead to oversee the daily operations at our facility. As a Dock Lead, you will be responsible for coordinating the loading and unloading of merchandise, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and adherence to safety protocols. You will also provide leadership and guidance to the dock team, ensuring productivity and maintaining a positive work environment.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree preferred
- Proven experience as a lead or supervisor in a similar role, preferably in logistics or warehousing
- Strong knowledge of dock operations, including shipping, receiving, and inventory management
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
- Proficient in using warehouse management systems (WMS) and other related software
- Ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities

Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and oversee the loading and unloading of merchandise, ensuring accurate item counts, proper handling, and adherence to safety protocols
- Assign tasks to dock team members and provide guidance and support as needed
- Monitor productivity and performance, providing coaching and feedback to improve efficiency
- Ensure proper storage and organization of merchandise in the warehouse
- Collaborate with other departments, such as transportation and inventory control, to optimize dock operations
- Maintain accurate records of inventory transactions and reconcile any discrepancies
- Train new employees on dock procedures, safety guidelines, and equipment operation
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment and report any maintenance or repair needs
- Promote and enforce safety procedures to ensure the well-being of all staff members
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to continuously improve dock operations
