Job DescriptionJob DescriptionThe HR Generalist will assist in managing the day-to-day operations of the HR department, including the administration of policies, procedures, and programs. The HR Generalist will handle responsibilities in the following functional areas: full cycle recruiting, HRIS data entry and analytics, employee relations, benefits, payroll, and employment.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Manage the ADP Workforce Now HRIS ensuring accurate data entry, processing transactions, and generating reports. Handle onboarding and offboarding processes and oversee employee time and attendance records. Provide guidance to employees on using the self-service tool for various transactions.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all matters related to time management and attendance. Address and resolve payroll-related inquiries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and regulations.
- Manage full cycle recruiting including sourcing and interviewing of candidates for various positions. Identify and cultivate relationships with potential applicant sources, including colleges and recruitment agencies. Develop strategies to attract diverse and qualified candidates to meet the organization’s staffing needs.
- Processing of bi-weekly payroll ensuring timely and accurate payment of all employees. Responsibilities include proactive follow-up with supervisors regarding employee attendance issues, maintaining accurate attendance records, and addressing any discrepancies promptly, collect and accurately enter all payroll-related data, conduct thorough reviews and audits of payroll registers to ensure compliance with company policies and resolve any discrepancies.
- Other Duties as Assigned: Take on additional responsibilities and projects as needed to support the HR department and overall organizational goals. Adapt to changing priorities and assist in various HR functions to ensure smooth operations.
Skills and Abilities:
- Comprehensive knowledge of the ADP Workforce Now HRIS is essential for leveraging its capabilities to streamline payroll processes and enhance data management.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications. Enhanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP, are preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
- Strong ability to build and maintain relationships, handle sensitive issues with tact, and work collaboratively with diverse teams. High level of integrity and ethical conduct, always ensuring confidentiality and discretion. Ability to work effectively with a diverse workforce, respecting and valuing differences in culture, background, and perspectives.
- Analytical and critical thinking skills to address HR issues, develop solutions, and implement strategies effectively.
- Confident and assertive in addressing HR matters, enforcing policies, and making decisions. Exceptional organizational and time management abilities, capable of managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to travel as needed for meetings and industry events.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- May occasionally require lifting of office supplies and equipment.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or related field is required. HR certifications (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP) are a plus.
- 2-3 years of professional HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Experience with HRIS systems, particularly ADP Workforce Now, is highly desirable.
