FLS Transportation is looking for an experienced, motivated, and career-minded Sales Manager to join our growing team. The Sales Manager will be responsible for achieving annual sales objectives, building a strong sales force, and providing vision for all sales strategies and their execution. The aim is to build and maintain a high-performance sales organization to effectively achieve business objectives. While proven experience in freight brokerage sales is required, the individual’s focus will be less on selling/maintaining a book of business him/herself and more on leading and coaching a sales team.


Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Branch Directors to increase sales opportunities and maximize revenue
  • Lead, manage, and support a sales team to maximize revenue and gross profit
  • Monitors sales executives’ performance to increase profitability
  • Ensure use of the CRM
  • Develop competencies and processes required to create an efficient sales organization.
  • Ensure effective hiring, training, development and retention of sales staff.
  • Ensure company policies are communicated in an efficient manner to the team, administered accordingly, and enforced (i.e., accounting, operational, safety, regulatory, and administrative).
  • Analyze to manage sales performance against corporate objectives
  • Collaborate with the executive team to develop short- and long-term strategic plans
  • Provide input from sales – including growth, competitive analysis, market trends, and business environment – for strategic planning processes
  • Develop strategies and tactics to support strategic plans at the management level


REQUIREMENTS

  • Solid experience in a 3PL (non-asset based) environment is ESSENTIAL
  • Proven experience in freight brokerage sales
  • 2 to 4 years of experience in a sales management capacity
  • Strong experience in all aspects of sales, including growth strategies, account development, and business planning
  • Demonstrated ability to hire, train, develop, lead, and direct a sales force
  • A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills
  • Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with key business partners and customers
  • Experience creating and managing budgets
  • Experience creating incentives and compensation plans would be an asset
  • Business analysis and requirements gathering experience, including document process narratives, workflows, controls and business case development
  • Commitment to self-learning and continuous skill and professional knowledge development
