GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • Nine months related experience and/or documented training in janitorial field required.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent

Other:

  • Must be able to follow designated janitorial task sequences
  • Must be able to follow verbal instructions
  • Must be able to pass Gesher background check; additional governmental clearances may be required
  • Must be able to pass drug screen
  • Work involves ability to work flexible hours
  • Work involves the ability to obtain police clearance or bonded
  • Work involves ability to push and lift equipment, office furniture, and accessories weighing up to 50 pounds

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Thoroughly vacuum all carpeted areas. Spot clean carpeted areas as necessary using approved methods.
  • Sweep and dust mop/damp. Mop/wet hard floor surfaces. Buff all vinyl asphalt, rubber, and similar type flooring as assigned. Strip and wax vinyl flooring as assigned using approved methods.
  • Empty waste receptacles, changing plastic liners as required. Transport waste to designated areas.
  • Pick up all recyclable paper from marked containers centrally located throughout the building and remove to designated containers in the loading dock area or other designated areas.
  • In restrooms, thoroughly clean and disinfect dispensers, sinks, toilets, urinal walls, doors, partitions and handrails. Clean glass and mirrors. Scrub restroom floors as required.
  • Fill all dispensers, i.e. soap, toilet tissue, paper towels, sanitary napkins.
  • Clean and/or disinfect drinking fountains, water coolers, break room tables, counters or other areas as assigned.
  • Dust fixtures and horizontal surfaces such as ledges, edges, shelves, exposed pipes, chair rungs, file cabinets, door frames, etc.
  • Clean glass, inside and out, in lobby areas as assigned.
  • Clean elevators, air bars and vents.
  • Spot clean walls as required.
  • Maintain exterior entrances by policing for trash and debris, emptying waste receptacles and replacing liners, emptying ashtrays, and performing snow removal as needed.
  • Maintain orderly clean and safe work areas.
  • Perform variable cleaning procedures as designated, i.e. light switches, area above revolving doors, door frames and kick plates. Includes cleaning of brass and stainless steel.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Environmental conditions:

  • Moderate noise (i.e., business office with computers, phone, and printers, light traffic).
  • Ability to work in a confined area.
  • Ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period.

Physical requirements:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to, stand, sit; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard, reach, stoop, kneel to install computer equipment.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work.
  • Light to moderate lifting in required.
