Welder Fitter

Job Title: Welder Fitter, DIRECT HIRE $20 - 36 per hour

Position Summary

Responsible for Reading Prints and Engineering drawings, Welding & Fitting Aerospace Fixtures, Tooling and JIGs to be completed by the Welding Crew. Must be proficient at reading blue prints, Must be Proficient Mig & TIG Welding. Ability to read weld symbols is preferred but not required. Strong math skills are also highly preferred as they will be taking job folders, calculating measurements and assembling/welding to print.

Minimum Skills and Competencies:

• Analyzes plans, drawings, work samples, specifications and work orders to determine work requirements, and sequence of welding assignments.
• Certified in MIG welding
• Ability to read blueprints including:

  • Ability to identify and find specifications
  • Knowledgeable in geometric tolerances (understand and recognize all symbols)
  • Thorough understanding of general tolerances
  • Comprehend sections and views
  • Understand reference system
  • Ability to locate and read stock list on drawing
• Some ability to operate presses (Helpful)
• Skilled in use of hand tools (drill motors, grinders, etc.)
• Ability to saw, miter, and fit fabrications (fit and tack)
• As may be required, forklift driver and overhead crane operation certifications.

Minimum Education:

• High School Diploma

Minimum Experience:

• Determined by weld manager based on need at time of hiring.
