JOB SUMMARY
Purpose:
Computer-Aided Design [CAD] technician creates electronic design plans for buildings and fabricated products using computer software.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Meet with engineers, draftsmen, and designers to review blueprint and design drawings
  • Create models of proposed designs in 2D or 3D using CAD software
  • Assist in interpreting industry codes, permits, and standards, to ensure design & drawing compliance
  • Informs supervisor of project status with respect to schedule, budgets, & delays; and confers with engineering team to resolve
    adverse problems.
  • Present design draft to be reviewed and assessed
  • Make revisions based on feedback from supervisor and/or customer
  • Review completed drawings and cost estimates for accuracy and conformity to standards & regulations
Work Experience: 1+ years of experience as a CAD technician
Related Experience:

  • Attention to detail
  • Basic understanding of building design and mechanical process
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks; keep up in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to read and translate blueprints & technical drawings
