ENTEK is seeking applications for a Maintenance Utility (Float) role to join us on-site at our Lebanon, Oregon location.


This is a unique opportunity at ENTEK and is vital to the continuity of our business operations. We are looking for someone that is willing and able to work any shift (Days, nights, and weekend) during any given week.


The Maintenance Utility is responsible for receiving raw materials delivered by rail car. Upon receipt, the maintenance utility switches out the rail cars, checks car tagging product reliability, transfers the materials into the bulk system, and changes out material from bag houses. Throughout the shift, the Maintenance Utility is responsible daily for monitoring, documenting levels and stocking silos, day bins, and load outs in the bulk system. Maintenance Utility will verify that the bulk system is full prior to shift change and is the key contact for updating the Maintenance/Ancillary about the status of material received late during a shift.


In addition to working with the raw material, the Maintenance Utility monitors and changes out oil absorbents booms and sump drainage basin filter media, as well as monitoring and cleaning the secondary containment areas. On a weekly basis, the Maintenance Utility monitors the well flow and documents monitoring tasks.


Important to the efficient operations of the unit is to ensure the Ancillary spaces are always clean and orderly. The Maintenance Utility supports these efforts by completing responsibilities for sweeping, vacuuming, blowing, and/or pressure washing the mix stands, unloading area, bulk rooms, boiler rooms, and utility rooms. Included in this work is monitoring and maintaining the cleaning equipment.

Working Environment

This role is assigned to work three 12-hour shifts and one 6-hour shift per work week OR working a Monday-Friday 8-hour shift, depending on the needs of the Maintenance/Ancillary team. Actual work schedules will vary week by week.


Employees in this role spend the majority of time on their feet, and occasionally may be required to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods of time. The work requires the incumbent to have the ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl, as well as reaching and finger dexterity. They must regularly lift up to 30 pounds, frequently lift up to 40 pounds, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. The job may require the employee to work near moving mechanical parts. Employees in this role also regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles, heat, and are occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals in the plant environment.


The Maintenance Utility role requires the willingness and ability to wear a half-face respirator as needed, which requires shaving facial hair before reporting to work. The employee will be required to wear eye and hearing protection at all times while working.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Basic mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, including following verbal and written direction.
  • Ability to read and interpret a wide variety of written documents.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal multiple variables when only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to maintain regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.
  • Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team.
  • Satisfactory results from a pre-employment fit-for-duty screen and drug screen.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Forklift experience.
