Job DescriptionJob Description

KNCC is a full service general contracting firm with the skill and knowledge to self-perform structural & architectural concrete, steel fabrication, steel erection, general laborer tasks, and all aspects of carpentry. We are looking for a Concrete Foreman with at least 5 years of experience across the concrete trade. This will be a pivotal role in growing our concrete self-perform team.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Oversee, manage, and mentor craft workers (general laborers/concrete form setters and concrete finishers) while carrying out assignments related to concrete forming, placement, finishing, curing, and cutting
  • Properly select equipment and materials needed to deliver an acceptable product
  • Schedule, manage, and supervise the planning, lay-out, material storage, maintenance, and inspections of concrete construction in accordance with all applicable plans, specifications, codes and industry standards
  • Schedule, coordinate, and manage the work of sub-tier contractors associated with concrete
    construction including ironworkers and finishers
  • Hands-on performance as needed and not limited to concrete form carpentry, the placement and finish of concrete, curing, and cutting of concrete slabs
  • Maintain relationships with other trades and main project team
  • Monitor production and quality of crews including productivity planning, tracking, and reporting
  • Read and understand blueprint drawings
  • Ability to calculate mathematical figures such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
  • Conduct employee coaching and employee evaluations
  • OSHA 10 and/or OSHA 30 Certified
  • Lead KNCC's Safety Program
  • Use of Construction Technology such as Procore, MS Office, and iPads's
  • Other onsite carpentry work as needed

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED certification
  • 5 years concrete experience required
  • Current driver's license
  • Ability to travel to jobsites within the Central Oregon, Portland, and Pendleton regions as necessary
  • Must have physical strength and manual dexterity, including hand/eye coordination, to manage all materials and tasks as required per job
  • Proficient in the use of the following tools and has the knowledge to use the equipment at the proper time of the place-finishing sequence: straight edges to establish grade, bull floats, mops and Highway Straight Edges, float blades, combo blades, and finish blades. Hand tools for floor finishing, edging, joint tooling. Single and double trowel machines. Curing, pump and vibratory equipment. Walk-behind trowels and double riders. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of all tools and equipment required
  • Ability to lift/push/pull up to and not limited to 100lbs
  • Work occurs primarily in on-site environment and may be indoors or outdoors. May sometimes involve heights, exposure to hot or cold weather, loud noises, dust and fumes
  • All PPE (Personnel Protective Equipment) Must be worn at all times (safety vest, protective eyewear, hearing protection, gloves, sleeves as needed, hard hat, face shield, & approved
    foot wear)
