House Manager, Live in Recovery Mentor - Women's Sober Living

Joyce's House is committed to empowering women overcome addiction by providing safe, sober and transitional housing.

***This position is open to female applicants only due to requirements of gender specific facility.***

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB

Minimum of 3-year continuous sobriety, walking a path ethically and with integrity along spiritual lines (Character Assets: Honesty, independent, teachable)

Be able to Live on-site

Must commit to obligation for a minimum of 1 year

High School diploma or GED equivalency required

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

  • The house, the clients and your job responsibilities must always be your first priority while respecting a client's confidentiality. Attention to client details and work closely and diligently with our CEO. Interact with clients and their families while maintaining boundaries, observe client behaviors, ensure client safety and facilitate client's daily activities per their program schedule. Each client should be handled individually while monitoring, overseeing and ensuring each client's long- and short-term goals are being met. Provide compassionate and nurturing support to clients without judgement. Conduct random UA drug screen tests and follow established procedures. Assist client in medication management. Oversee, document, and monitor client’s while residing at the facility.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Strong verbal, communication and written skills is a must, precise and detailed when deemed necessary.

· Enforce agency’s standards, policies and procedures, house rules, code of conduct and rights of clients.

· Monitor client's daily schedules and provide a nightly report to include client's daily activities, attendance at supportive meetings, chores, observation of house rules.

· Conduct random client urinalysis drug screens / breathalyzer tests and document accordingly. Report any positive drug screenings immediately to management.

· Coordinate and conduct weekly house meetings to discuss internal conflicts, communication needs etc.

· Management and responsibility of stocking groceries, toiletries, supplies etc.

· Peer support for clients with any concerns including adjustment to a new environment, roommate differences etc.

· Conduct residence orientation to includes review of house rules, chores, safety drills and locations of fire extinguishers, emergency evacuation diagram, exit routes, evacuation procedures, and first-aid kits

· Light laundry, and cleaning as needed including for room changes / new clients

· Assist clients when needed in learning new life skills to include cooking and cleaning

· Quick, appropriate response to emergency situations, including successful ability to remain calm and deescalate intense situations.

· Immediately report all incidents and health and safety hazards to supervisor

· Report facility maintenance/ repair problems to supervisor

· Ability to operate a 15-seat passenger van

Additional duties may be required if deemed necessary

Compensation:

  • Live rent free in fully furnished, private bedroom in recovery house (high ceilings, furniture, kitchen and bath, free laundry, parking, and utilities; security system); utilities paid including water, electricity, gas, internet etc. This spacious one-bedroom is valued at over $1,500/month for rent and utilities.
  • $65 gas card per month

$35 phone card per month

  • Private room/one overnight a week
  • Company Vehicle when available

KEY COMPETENCIES

Must have valid driver’s license and insurance to assist other housemates with rides. Windows proficient while keeping good track of client records, client intake, client notes and house documents

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Walking, required. Light lifting and standing when groups or meetings are in session. Help flip/wash bedding and prepare for new clients intakes or departures. Pack and store any belongings left by previous clients.

Available shifts and compensation: We have available shifts all days of the week. Compensation depends on your experience.
