POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Associate Buyer is responsible to develop assortment architecture, buying plans, and execute the strategy for a specific category and group of brands. This is an In-house position in Roselle, NJ.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 
• Partner with DMM to implement a strategy to maximize profitability and sales by analyzing item performance and execute accordingly; Reports to DMM and has Assistant Team member support.
• Aid in defining the assortment strategy for assigned categories; analyze business reports to understand trends, sell-through, and ensure targets are being met 
• Primary Liaison with Vendors and service providers
• Proactively report real time project status, flagging concerns, with attention to detail

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED / QUALIFICATIONS: 
• Bachelor’s degree
• 3-5 years prior buying, planning or merchandising experience required

• Strong written and oral communication skills, organizational and time management skills
• Desire to learn, understand, and apply new technologies
• Detail Oriented, ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence others
• Strong Work Ethic
• Excellent critical thinking, decision making, analytical, and negotiation skills
• Ability to Multitask and agility to flex among competing priorities
• Time Management – Balance Priorities Accurately & Efficiently
• Ability to Maintain Curiosity and Continually Seek to Learn More About their Environment
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite, Excel (V-look ups, pivots, formulas), and Outlook
