Job Summary: 

A lead irrigator will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing irrigation systems for our clients' landscapes. This includes troubleshooting issues, performing preventative maintenance, and ensuring that all irrigation systems function properly. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Install and maintain irrigation systems for landscapes, including commercial and residential properties. 
  • Inspect systems regularly to ensure they are working properly and identify any issues that need to be addressed. 
  • Troubleshoot and repair irrigation systems, including valves, heads, controllers, low voltage wiring, and piping. 
  • Conduct preventative maintenance, such as adjusting water pressure and cleaning filters, to ensure proper system function. 
  • Adjust multiple types of irrigation controllers. Experience with Hydrawise is a plus. 
  • Keep accurate records of work performed and materials used. 
  • Communicate with clients to discuss their irrigation needs and make recommendations for system upgrades or improvements. 
  • Ensure that all work is performed safely and in compliance with local regulations. 
  • Closely coordinate with various departments to ensure an excellent client experience. 
  • Manage the daily activities of an irrigation technician. 
  • Install, troubleshoot, and repair low voltage outdoor lighting.  
  • Perform other duties as assigned. 

 

Additional Requirements: 

  • Possession of a current, valid Irrigator’s license, issued by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality. 

 

Skills and Abilities: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent. 
  • 5 years of experience installing and maintaining irrigation systems. 
  • Knowledge of irrigation system design and installation. 
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing irrigation systems. 
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics and blueprints. 
  • Strong communication and customer service skills. 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. 

 

Physical Requirements: 

  • Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. 
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
