Travel: Yes, travel is expected for this position (10% - 15% on average).
Supervisory Responsibility: No
Compensation: Negotiable, based on skills and experience.

Job Description:
Quality Construction Management, Inc. (QCM) is seeking a Surveying Field Technician to support surveying services in the Tri-State Area.

Required Education:
High School Diploma or Equivalent.

Required Experience:
Minimum 1 years of surveying field experience (Preferred).

Equivalent combination of technical training and/or related experience.

Job Requirements:

  • Comfortable working alone or sometimes paired with another person.
  • Able to place hubs and iron pins in the ground with a hammer
  • Capable of walking around with the equipment required for site layout.
  • Must have a valid driver's license in good standing.
  • Must be fluent with running robotic units, preferably Topcon Robotics GT Series with Magnet software.
  • Comfortable transferring data to and from a field data collector via a computer.
  • Follow instructions detailed out by management, construction foremen, and/or other clients.
  • Able to act professionally at all times even under pressure.
  • Experience and a good understanding of GPS positioning for producing the best results.
  • Work overtime as necessary.
  • Have field awareness for working safely around heavy construction equipment and busy roads.
  • Use field codes in a certain manner for the field to finish results when creating a base map.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail required; well organized.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships.

  • Must be able to hear, speak, read, and write clearly in English.
  • Must be able to drive moderate distances and/or travel by other modes as necessary.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time and/or walk on level/uneven ground.
  • Must be able to see up close, distances, colors and have use of peripheral vision and depth perception.
  • Must be able to tolerate extreme heat/cold temperatures.
  • Must be able to tolerate dusty/noisy conditions.
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
