The Membership Coordinator is a representative of the Orange County Chamber of Commerce.  They are responsible for the membership-related functions of the Orange County Chamber of Commerce and its subsidiaries. The position provides support to staff, members and committees with responsibilities that are vital to the success of the organization.  

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Administrative support of membership: update profiles, process members, etc.
  • Administrative assistance with Chamber events.
  • Assist with retention of existing members.  Customer service/relationship building.
  • Assist with prospecting and selling new Chamber memberships.
  • Annual member checkups as assigned.
  • Promptly and effectively respond to prospects inquiring about membership and any member referrals.
  • Actively assist Membership Manager with Account’s Receivable
  • Responsible for meeting with our Ambassadors Committee regularly
  • Sale of other products, such as sponsorships and advertising
  • Attend relevant Chamber functions and other functions and meetings for the purpose of networking, representing the Chamber and recruiting.
  • Work with other colleagues and organizations, continuously seeking new and improved approaches for enhancing the Chamber’s membership recruitment efforts and investment benefits.
  • Expected to provide quality customer service to members and future members
  • Ability to update website blog and/or send communications helpful
  •  Participate as an active member of the Chamber staff, which is a positive and dynamic team dedicated to exceeding customer expectations.
  • Other duties as assigned.



Qualifications:

  • Associate’s Degree in Hospitality, Business or related major 
  • Must be self-motivated, results-oriented, possess excellent time management skills, and comfortable dealing with a broad spectrum of business industries and people
  • Able to succeed with little supervision
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in not-for-profit corporations a plus but not required
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, CRM Databases, Zoom.  Experience in GrowthZone & WordPress a plus but not required.
  • Ability to be flexible and work as a team player.
  • Must be able to attend one early morning meeting per month as well as one later event per month; potentially others as the business needs determine.
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • 3 years’ experience in field and/or sales experience 
  • Knowledge of the Orange County community is a plus
