Store Crew - State Park Marina
Job Description
Full-Time, Seasonal Position (Summer and Fall 2024)
Non-Exempt, Hourly Status
Reports To: Marina Manager
The Store Crew member is responsible for providing exceptional customer service in the marina retail store. This includes handling phone calls, transactions, watercraft rental contracts, and keeping the retail store stocked and in an orderly manner. In addition, Store Crew will be responsible for maintaining the guest service experience as per company standards.
Responsibilities:
- Greet every customer and assist with questions, reservations, and boat rental contracts.
- Answer the phone and handle all customer requests in a courteous manner, respond promptly to questions and reservations.
- Maintain the retail store and keep merchandise stocked and organized.
- Keep the store clean and in an orderly manner (i.e. empty trash, clean counters, vacuum/sweep the floor, clean-up after customers, etc.)
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and practices including signing, pricing, and loss prevention.
- Accurately and efficiently complete all sales transactions and maintain proper cash at registers.
- Communicate guests’ requests, recommendations, and dissatisfaction to management.
- Complete opening and closing duties per policy and procedure.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Job Requirements:
Qualifications - To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Computer Skills - Must have basic computer skills, with the ability to learn new software in a timely manner; Point of Sale software experience a plus.
Education – Position requires a minimum of two (2) years High School, or GED. Must complete Boating Safety Certification, if born after 1/1/1984, upon 14 days hire.
Experience – This position requires previous work experience in dealing with the public (i.e. customer service) on a daily basis, and treating customers with respect. Previous retail experience preferred.
Physical Demands -The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. Must have the ability to work on feet for extended periods of time/ The employee is frequently required to balance, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Employee must be able work in outdoor weather conditions.
Other Skills and Abilities - The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, work well with a team, effectively prioritize, proceed with a sense of urgency and a concern for customer satisfaction.
