The Supply Chain Buyer is responsible for Purchasing functions within the Supply Chain department. This position will work closely with the supply chain team, production schedulers, sales, and program management to support production at our two facilities. The Buyer will report to the Supply Chain Director. Successful execution in this role could lead to promotional opportunities within Supply Chain Team.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Procurement of Raw materials including backing up meat buyer
  • Material Scheduling (ordering and tracking)
  • Vendor Claims Support - Investigation and Processing
  • Inventory Management and BOM verification and changes
  • Vendor and Item Setup in MRP System (Business Central)
  • Establish / Monitor item reorder points and vendor inventory levels
  • Daily communication with Operations and Scheduling teams
  • Managing changes in Demand, Inventory shortages and delays in vendor deliveries
  • Manage and disposition material obsolescence

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Proficient in Excel including use of pivot tables.
  • Excellent Administrative, Organizational, Planning and Prioritizing skills.
  • Excellent Communication (Verbal & Written) and Interpersonal skills
  • Strong aptitude for Problem Solving and Continuous Improvement
  • High Attention to Detail
  • Experience with Inventory Management & MRP systems
  • Strong Attendance and availability to support situations outside of normal hours

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration or related field preferred
  • Professional Experience in Supply Chain is preferred but not required
