LPN (Inpatient Mental Health)

FT 3 pm - 11:30 pm with e/o wkend

Key responsibilities:

• Assists in maintaining a safe, therapeutic environment that respects patient rights.
• Administers medications, transcribes orders.
• Intervenes with critical patients in an acute behavioral healthcare setting
• Assists with admission, transfer, and discharge procedures.
• Provides nursing care based on the patient’s treatment plan, under the supervision of the registered nurse.
• Assists the patient with activities of daily living, encouraging independent behavior, when appropriate.
• Uses safe and appropriate de-escalation/restraint techniques when needed.

Requirements:

• Graduate of a state accredited school of nursing.
• Current Maryland state licensure as a practical nurse.
• One year experience in medical-surgical nursing, with one additional year of psychiatric nursing preferred.
• Ability to multitask in a stressful environment.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work in a team format.
• Knowledge of Child and Adolescent psych preferred.
• Ability to pass a crisis intervention program that includes physical restraint.

Starting pay based on experience and qualifications.
Evening, Overnight, and Weekend shifts pay an extra shift differential per hour
