Well established manufacturing company in Nashville is hiring a Tax Analyst to join their team. The tax analyst will support the Corporate Tax Department through research and preparation of federal, state and local, or international income tax provision and returns, depending on assignment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Compile, review, and analyze data in preparation of federal, state, or international tax returns
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly estimated tax payments for complex international and domestic entities
  • May lead group projects in the completion of complex tax returns
  • Assist with US federal, state and Canadian tax audits; gather documentation, prepare data analysis and assist with correspondence to tax authorities
  • Research and interpret US and Canadian tax laws for planning and compliance
  • Assist in the preparation of tax accruals under ASC 740 for domestic and foreign entities
  • Review fixed assets for proper tax classification and generate depreciation reports
  • Maintain and administer corporate income tax software systems and applications
  • Assist with ad hoc indirect tax projects as needed
  • Perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations
  • Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Good working knowledge of US Federal and State tax statutes and regulations required
  • Basic working knowledge of Canadian corporate income tax laws and regulations a plus
  • Basic knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and financial accounting standards required
  • Knowledge of tax preparation software
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong computer skills with extensive knowledge of Excel
  • Proven ability to research and interpret tax law
  • Proven ability to document tax research findings and conclusions in tax memoranda
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
  • CPA desirable
Experience:
  • 2-5 years of public or private accounting in corporate income tax
  • Or any equivalent combination of experience or training that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position.
