Job DescriptionJob DescriptionDescriptionThe Project Engineer coordinates and manages outside engineering services to design and develop solar PV projects.

What you'll do:·         Project Engineer tracks and drives all milestones, deadlines, and plan sets with outside engineering firms.
·         Work with Engineering Manager and Project Managers to manage internal and external capacity to meet project milestones.  Requests and evaluates engineering services proposals.
·         Perform quality review of work performed by assigned staff; identify, investigate, and resolve internal and external quality issues on projects.
·         Manage and control the generation, issuance, resolution, and close-out of requests for information, technical enquiry forms, and transmittals/submittals.
·         Ensure that all superseded drawings, specifications, and other construction documents are marked as such, removed from the active construction and replaced with current versions.
·         Ensure that field redline drawings of all construction work are maintained on site, and that final record drawings are generated upon completion of the project.
·         Liaise with client, engineering teams, subcontractors, and vendors at the direction of the Engineering Manager.
·         Review plans and specifications for constructability, site constraints, topography, and risk management.
·         Coordinate technical activities and designs with personnel in other disciplines and departments within the local office.
·         Consult with electrical and civil engineering staff on project layouts.
·         Assist with other duties assigned to provide professional and technical support on multiple projects.
·         Maintain a culture of continuous improvement and problem solving.
What you'll need:·         Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an ABET accredited program.·         Two years minimum of supervisory experience in a related field.·         Three years minimum of engineering experience performing development of solar projects in a fast-paced environment.·         Proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil 3D.·         Demonstrated experience managing outside engineering firms.·         Proficiency with reading blueprints, plans, specs, contracts, subcontracts, and purchase orders. ·         An interest in renewable energy development and design.·         Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.·         Proficiency with Procore or similar construction management software.

·         Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal skills, including the ability to communicate in a positive manner with project managers, other engineering/design team members, management and installation contractors to foster an environment of superior coordination.
·         Good problem solving and critical thinking abilities and a proactive work ethic. Must take accountability of own body of work, closing each project by design completion efficiently, while maintaining accuracy and strict attention to detail.
·         Strong ability to apply innovative and creative skills to problem solving.
