Sign Shop Intern
Location: Springfield, MO
Hours: 25 to 30 hours a week
Reports to: Sign Shop Manager
Job Description:
Under the direct supervision of the sign shop manager, the Sign Shop Intern will be a motivated and detail-oriented individual. This internship offers hands-on experience in various aspects of print production and operations within our sign shop environment. The ideal candidate will assist with tasks related to printing, finishing, quality control, and customer service, providing valuable support to our team while gaining practical skills and knowledge in the print/design industry. The position has flexible hours, within M-F 8a-5p, but will be limited to a maximum of 30 hours.
Essential Functions:
• Use industry leading printing equipment to produce POS for national brand-named products
• Assist in production of signs both finishing (ex, cutting, folding, and mounting) and basic design
• Quality control checks throughout the printing process to ensure accuracy and consistency
• Handle print materials and supplies, including loading paper, ink, and other consumables
• Management and tracking of point-of-sale assets
• Prepare sign surfaces for application of text/graphics (cut to size and clean) as needed
• Assist sales reps with requests as needed
Requirements:
• Currently enrolled in a relevant degree program, such as graphic design, or printing technology
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions precisely
• Basic knowledge of printing processes and equipment
• Proficiency in graphic design software is a plus. (We use both CorelDraw and Adobe Creative)
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Willingness to learn and take on new challenges
• Physical ability to lift and move heavy objects as needed
Qualifications:
Must be able to pass a background check and pre-employment drug & alcohol screenings.
Education:
High School or equivalent education minimum.
Experience:
Knowledge of CorelDraw Graphic Software is a plus.
