Primary Job Duties: 
  • Coordinate and record activities in receiving, storing, and issuing tools/equipment to workers.
  • Apply knowledge of types of tools and procedures of tool storage and recordkeeping.
  • Repair and clean tooling as needed.
  • Maintain appropriate organization and storage of tooling.
  • Place orders for manufacturing items and follows up on status.
  • Expedites orders, as needed.
  • Gather information on tooling usage and costs and report to engineering or management as required.
  • Follow work instructions.
  • Use ancillary machines such as a grinder, surface grinder, drill press, manual lathe, manual mill, or comparator to assist with production.
  • Communicate work status.
  • Follow policies and procedures, Vision, Values, Principles, and Philosophies
  • Maintain acceptable attendance
  • Any specifically assigned task.

Knowledge & Skill Requirements: 
  • 5 years of experience with different types of tooling, CNC machines, and tool room systems.
  • Shop math (i.e. add, subtract, multiply, divide, fractions, decimals, percentages)
  • Ability to use tools, equipment, and work aids, such as precision gauges and measuring instruments.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organization ability.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office software

Physical Requirements:
  • Lifting up to 50lbs, including bending, twisting, crouching, etc.
  • Must be able to stand for 10-hour work shift
  • Must be able to work with oils/coolants
  • Must be able to work in noisy environment

Tasks:
 
  • Weekly po to cti for crib vends rectify
  • Purchasing/receiving incidental tools/supplies
  • Coordination with suppliers for quotes/tools
  • Catalog/storage maintenance of cabinets
  • General organization  of cabinets/locations
  • Non-crib backup tooling inventory management
  • Tool/supplies non-crib inventory management (clamps, screws, holders)
  • Expedite/follow up on tooling/supply po’s/quotes
  • Hand tools/shop supplies inventory management (coolant, wrenches, pigs, etc)
  • Resharpening program management
  • Research/finding tools for engineers
  • Monitor for backup tooling non-crib items
  • Restock old job tooling
  • Reconcile cribmaster info to actual stock
  • Restock cribmaster as required
  • Sharpen drills, endmills, etc tooling
  • Remove broken screws, clamps, wrecked tool repair
  • Setup / preset v-flange tooling
  • Use setup sheet to preset setup/job boxes
  • Repair, clean, evaluate existing/returned tooling
  • Other duties as assigned
