Job DescriptionJob Description

We are looking for a skilled heavy equipment operator with excavator experience. Preferred experience with digging/excavation, laying underground pipe and/or grade work. The ideal candidate would also be able to operate several types of construction equipment including excavators, backhoes, dozers and/or skid steers.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Works under the direction of the site supervisor, to complete daily schedule of work
  • Performs daily safety and maintenance checks
  • Clean equipment as scheduled and/or required
  • Advise Supervisor of any required maintenance or repairs
  • Participate in routine maintenance
  • Practice workplace safety to ensure the safety of fellow employees and public
  • Perform other duties on jobsite when not operating equipment

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 3+ years experience in the operation of heavy construction equipment
  • Knowledge reading locate sheets and possible underground and/or overhead utilities
  • Knowledge of workplace safety requirements and procedures including but not limited to backing up procedures, use of flagmen and spotters, signage, incident reporting, required personal safety equipment and lifting of heavy loads.
  • Knowledge of equipment operation, cleaning and maintenance requirements
  • Analytical and problem solving skills
  • Effective communication skills (both listening and verbal)

Must be able to pass a drug test Must be able to legally work in the United States

Salary: $23.00 - $27.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday

Experience:

  • Heavy equipment operation: 1 year (Preferred)
