Seeking a self-motivated and pro-active Electrical engineer with previous experience of PCB Manufacturing/Test Engineering who is ready for challenges, responsibilities and rewards that come with working in a high-tech and fast-paced environment. We provide the PCBA test solutions for WD's core business of hard drive manufacturing. This solutions are used by WD's PCBA manufacturing suppliers, as well as WD's internal product FA.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Collaborate with the team in design, verification and characterization of electronic boards and mechanical fixtures for the PCBA tester systems and report the results in a categorized and presentable manner
• Troubleshoot the circuit issues including the design or manufacturing issues
• Work with both electrical and mechanical engineering team to achieve the project goals
• Provide continuous support to various stakeholders; including the PCBA manufacturing supplier, product design team and quality engineering team
• Be passionate about learning new hardware tools, software applications and protocol specifications

REQUIRED

• BS of EE or similar, 7+ years of work experience
• 5+ years direct experience of PCBA manufacturing/test
• Hands-on experience of PCB layout, manufacturing, assembly, and testing process is required
• Basic electronic board bring-up and FA experience is required
• Cross-functional knowledge as Mechanical or Mechatronic engineer is highly desired
• Knowledge of component qualification is preferred 
• Knowledge of HDD technology is a big advantage

OTHER

• Hybrid on-site position
• Being able to attend late evening meetings with overseas stakeholders (after 7pm, 2 to 3 times a week), along with morning meetings with US teams
• Being able to travel overseas occasionally

Compensation & Benefits Details

• An employee’s pay position within the salary range may be based on several factors including but not limited to (1) relevant education; qualifications; certifications; and experience; (2) skills, ability, knowledge of the job; (3) performance, contribution and results; (4) geographic location; (5) shift; (6) internal and external equity; and (7) business and organizational needs.
• The salary range is what we believe to be the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting.  We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in California, Colorado, New York or remote jobs that can be performed in California, Colorado and New York.  This range may be modified in the future.
• You will be eligible to participate in Western Digital’s Short-Term Incentive (STI) Plan, which provides incentive awards based on Company and individual performance.  Depending on your role and your performance, you may be eligible to participate in our annual Long-Term Incentive (LTI) program, which consists of restricted stock units (RSUs) or cash equivalents, pursuant to the terms of the LTI plan.
