Probate Paralegal

Applicants must have significant prior North Carolina estate administration/probate experience and must be highly organized professionals with great attention to detail. Compensation:

$23 - $29 hourly

Responsibilities:
  • Organize our case filing systems to ensure all documents are properly sorted and easy to locate, and other administrative duties as needed 
  • Being the point person/primary contact for probate and trust administration files
  • Performing all probate and trust administration-related work including drafting legal documents, correspondence, forms, letters, pleadings, affidavits, notices, etc. under the supervision of a lawyer
  • Correspondence (in person, in writing, and via telephone) with clients and other parties involved in matters
  • Accurate timekeeping
  • Maintaining an updated spreadsheet of current matters and status
  • Ongoing training and skill development
  • Assisting with other legal matters and duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • 3 years of experience in legal services under an attorney or lawyer in a law firm setting. At least 1 of those years MUST have been in North Carolina probate/estate administration
  • Candidates should possess high-level organizational skills and time-management skills
  • Strong preference for candidates who have completed a paralegal professional certification or have an advanced paralegal education
  • Talented communicator and writer
