JOB SUMMARY
The Quality Management System (QMS) Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the development, documentation, implementation, and continued maintenance of a compliant Quality Management System (QMS) for the Goldsboro, NC facility. To facilitate this system the QMS Coordinator is expected to establish and maintain the needed training program to ensure understanding of critical to quality requirements and methodologies.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identify opportunities for improving QMS to ensure accuracy and continual improvement.
- Coordinate and conduct internal QMS audits in accordance with procedures to ensure compliance and accuracy with current versions of ISO 9001 and customer requirements
- o Recruit internal auditors
- o Develop and implement internal process audits and associated tracking mechanisms.
- o Provide training for internal auditors (including qualification) either personally or from outside trainer
- o Monitor the compliance to the schedule
- o Enter, review, and close any non-conformances that are found in the internal audit.
- o Be the primary contact for adding people to the system
- o Enter all NCRs
- Monitor open NCRs to avoid lost tags
- Run reports and verify accuracy of said reports
- o Track completion of ECMs
- o File all paperwork for the “shipped” units in the appropriate location
- o Be the local ETQ resident expert
- Issue and track the QI process
- o Initial issue of QIs
- o Tracking of completion of QIs
- o Work with Supervisors to ensure that QIs are not lost
- Issue CARs
- o All CARs including internal CARs for audit findings and CARs for failed units.
- o Monitor all open CARs and report weekly
- Develop mechanism (with Quality Supervisor assistance) to report status of CARs
- Facilitate registrar and customer audits.
- Review and coordinate with the test department transformer and customer specifications to develop key requirements to communicate to manufacturing & quality assurance team members
- Build relationships with registrar and key internal customers to proactively understand and address concerns.
- Foster strong intra-departmental and cross-functional relationships with all levels within the organization to drive quality system requirements.
- Administer and coordinate all QMS software related activities, maintenance, and requirements
- Provide formal reports on registrar, customer and internal audit observations and findings.
- Initiate, monitor, and report on corrective and preventive actions related to QMS compliance requirements.
- Provide interpretation of certification standards.
- Provide education and basic to intermediate training for all personnel on certification awareness, system-level procedures, work instructions, and critical to quality topics.
- Prepare monthly KPI reports for quality management review.
- Facilitate the development and compilation of periodic Quality Management Review presentations with participating departments.
- Development, deployment, and improvement of quality assurance training practices for all levels of the organization
- Consistently seek, share, and implement best practices.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Proficient with Microsoft Office software
- Ability to interface with cross-functional teams and all levels of personnel/management.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities (i.e. self-starter, self-motivated).
- Certified ISO 9001 internal auditor or quality assurance professional
- Administer the ETQ system
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Required Education / Experience
- Associate Degree or 5 years of transformer experience.
- 2-5+ years of related quality assurance experience.
Preferred Education / Experience
- Previous experience with QMS, certified ISO 9001 internal auditor or quality assurance professional
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Key Working Relationships
Functional Leaders: Engineering, Human Resources, Sales Operations, Sourcing. Works with hourly direct labor employees, support staff and suppliers on a routine basis, and might have occasional contact with customers
Physical Demands
Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
Working Conditions
Shop-floor and office environment, located on large manufacturing campus
