Global footwear company excited to invite a Freelance Accessories Designer to join their team for a 3-6 months contract opportunity with the possibility of full time transition.

The position will focus on the design and development for cold weather accessories (knit scarf, beanies, earmuffs etc), woven scarf, gifting, cut and sew hats

You will work under the design director to create seasonal product lines for ladies, mens and a bit of kids novelty and basics.

Must be a self-starter and capable of balancing multiple projects simultaneously with attention to deadlines and benchmarks.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Work as part of a team to build seasonal lines
  • Design product from concept through development and pre-production
  • Performtrend execution and research and build trend boards
  • Works cross-functionally with PD and Production
  • Generates Tech Packs
  • Approves samples through TOP
  • Prepares samples for meetings
  • Knowledge and experience with CAD
  • Tracks development and communicate with overseas vendor
  • Possess excellent presentation skills
  • Work well in team collaborations and support other team members when needed
  • Meet all milestones and calendar due dates

Qualifications:

  • Cold weather accessories experience preferred FA and SLG will be considered
  • 2-4 years design experience with accessories company creating socks, cold weather, knits, general accessories
  • Proficient in Adobe applications, particularly Photoshop and Illustrator
  • A self-starter, able to juggle multiple projects simultaneously with attention to deadlines and benchmarks


Freelance Compensation: $36.00 Hourly

You will be an intricate part of the Accessories design team working in their mid-town Manhattan corporate headquarters.

Hybrid: 4 days in office.
