JOB SUMMARY:

Pablo Center at the Confluence supports a mission focused on augmenting and developing opportunities to experience the performing, literary, and visual arts for people of all ages and backgrounds. Pablo Center welcomes, connects, inspires, and transforms, motivated by the belief that through art, education, and entertainment we can build stronger communities and a more enlightened world.

The Grant Writer will secure funding for STEAM education programs, general operations, and special projects at Pablo Center. STEAM education programs include FIRST robotics teams, Girls Who Code, art and design, performing arts, music, science, engineering, and much more.

This position has the potential to become a full-time position over time.


WORK DAYS/TIMES:

Part-time, approximately 20-25 hours per week. Work can be a mix of remote and onsite.


DUTIES:

  • Write, edit, and submit grants for new and existing foundation, government, or corporate grant sources.
  • Proactively identify and qualify new funding leads.
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of all Pablo Center work and priorities.
  • Maintain the grants calendar to monitor application processes, deadlines, reports, and grant compliance; summarize opportunities for senior level management to determine whether the grant is a viable opportunity.
  • Consult with Pablo Center leadership to obtain needed data including budgets, statistics, supplemental documentation, narratives, and in-depth reports on program services.
  • Perform miscellaneous projects and complete various tasks related to grants and grants management as needed by management.
  • Other duties as needed.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • 2+ years of grant writing experience, with a track record of successful funding.
  • Demonstrated ability to craft compelling communications for various audiences and articulate the case for support to stakeholders.
  • Superior organizational skills and a commitment to detailed tracking.
  • Strong editorial skills and a proof-reader's eye for details.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to follow directions and accept feedback from supervisors and peers.
  • Able to work independently.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Self-motivated.
  • Goal-orientated.
  • Bachelor's degree in business or a related field.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce, Blackbaud, Excel, and grant submission sites.
  • Proactive problem-solver with an ability to think creatively and critically.
  • Must have a strong sense of professional courtesy and customer service.
