Job DescriptionJob Description

Baesman Group, a nationally recognized provider of direct-to-customer marketing strategy and multi-channel execution is seeking an experienced SQL Database Developer to join our Information Technology Team. The SQL Database Developer works within a small IT Team to serve internal and external clients for customer loyalty and engagement programs, operations/manufacturing systems, and in-house/custom-built applications.

The Database Developer role provides the principal capability within the organization to design, create, modify, maintain/monitor, secure, and optimize database structures including tables, indexes, views, and stored procedures. Other critical duties include daily complex ad-hoc query writing, SQL job monitoring and processing, ETL development, report writing, and MS BI management.

The SQL Database Developer also provides the primary report writing capability within the organization for production management reporting and data extraction activities from various systems (both internal and external) and helps facilitate data-based quality control efforts for data coming in to, and out of, our and our client’s systems.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and be a fast learner. 2. Create and maintain data loads from external clients via SSIS and manipulate data via a strong knowledge of ETL/SSIS and SQL stored procedures.

3. Complete daily complex "ad hoc" queries and report requests for delivery to internal and external teams. Create and maintain data views to support the internal SAS Analytics team.

4. Implement database performance monitoring, mapping of conceptual designs, refining logical designs, data modeling, maintaining data standards and protection (encryption), writing database documentation (standards, procedures, definitions), defining access control and permissions, managing backup and recovery paths, and participating in capacity planning.

5. Provide ongoing maintenance of all organizational production and administrative data sources to ensure data integrity and database security. Troubleshoots database errors, indexing, speed, or other concerns. Coordinates with the VP, Technology, and Lead Developer to ensure all data storage and retrieval capabilities are properly supported and maintained within our IT infrastructure.

6. Produce and maintain database documentation (e.g. data dictionary, Entity Relationship Diagrams) as required for proper system maintenance and system enhancements.

7. Lead the discovery, mock-up, creation, testing, scheduling, and ongoing revision of SQL/SSRS-based business reports.

8. Maintain multiple SQL server instances including SQL and OS versions, compatibility, upgrades, working with external vendors to ensure functionality, etc.

9. Other duties as assigned.
