Postion Summary:

We’re looking for a spirited Spin Instructor who is passionate about developing and connecting with our members, and wants to inspire others to thrive towards self-empowerment and a healthy lifestyle. As a Spin Instructor, you will be required to plan engaging lessons and ensure proper use of the bikes. To be successful as a Spin Instructor, you should be able to embody health and fitness, and lead a high-energy, full workout.

Essential Functions:

  • Lead classes and plan/deliver a full 45-50 minute workout

  • Ensuring that the microphone, sound system, and spinning bikes are in excelled condition at all times

  • Engage with our clients and get to know them — we want to offer an experience they’ll continue to come back for

  • Support the mission of the YMCA

  • Incorporate the YMCA Character Development Caring, Honesty, Respect, Responsibility in our daily routine and incorporate these character traits when interacting with staff and members.

  • Maintain a professional manner at all times when in the YMCA.

  • Maintain a positive working relationship with fellow staff and members of all ages and backgrounds.

Qualifications:

  • Education requirements: High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Skills necessary: Demonstrate ability to provide effective customer service skills and handle individuals of all ages, gender, and backgrounds.

  • Must be able to maintain a current certificate in CPR/First Aid/AED, Group Fitness Instructor Certification, and/or Spin/Cycling specialty certification that is accredited by the NCCA. YMCA Personal Training Instructor within 1 year of hire.

  • Must follow Personnel Policy and work to further the mission of the Family YMCA of Black Hawk County

Evening hours preferred however flexible to negotiate morning or Saturday morning class
Pay will be determined based on experience
