Our Recruiter plays a pivotal role in sourcing, screening, and selecting qualified candidates to fill various positions within the organization. You will collaborate closely with hiring managers and team members to understand their needs and ensure the recruitment process is efficient, effective, and aligned with the company's goals and values.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Candidate Sourcing: Utilize various channels such as job boards, social media, professional networks, and referrals to attract a diverse pool of qualified candidates.
  2. Screening and Evaluation: Review resumes, conduct initial screenings, and assess candidates' qualifications, skills, and cultural fit through interviews and assessments.
  3. External Recruitment: Attend job fairs as well as building relationships with training programs throughout the community.
  4. Coordination: Schedule and coordinate interviews, assessments, and other stages of the recruitment process between candidates and hiring managers.
  5. Candidate Experience: Ensure a positive and professional candidate experience throughout the recruitment process, providing timely communication and feedback.
  6. Hiring Manager Collaboration: Collaborate closely with hiring managers to understand their staffing needs, provide guidance on recruitment best practices, and facilitate decision-making.
  7. Employer Branding: Represent the company positively to candidates, promoting its culture, values, and opportunities for growth.
  8. Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant employment laws and regulations throughout the recruitment process, including equal employment opportunity (EEO) guidelines.
  9. Data Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of candidate information and recruitment activities using Applicant Tracking System (ATS) or other tools.
  10. Metrics and Reporting: Track recruitment metrics such as time-to-fill, cost-per-hire, and source effectiveness, and provide regular reports to management for insights and improvements.
  11. Continuous Improvement: Stay informed about industry trends, recruitment best practices, and innovative sourcing techniques, and propose enhancements to the recruitment process.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Proven experience as a recruiter or in a similar role, preferably in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience recruiting for shipyard skilled trades preferred.
  • Strong understanding of recruitment processes, techniques, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with candidates, hiring managers, and team members.
  • Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in using Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and other recruitment software/tools. Experience using Paylocity’s ATS preferred.
  • Knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Certification in recruitment or human resources management (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP) is a plus.
