DNA, known for its millennia-long stability, unrivaled information density, and cost-effective replicability, offers revolutionary potential for latency-tolerant high-density data storage and massively parallel computation. We are seeking a System Software engineer to interface with our DNA based storage system software.
 
In this role, you will:
  • Drive technical projects that involve bringing together firmware and hardware into fully functional subsystems and prototype devices
  • Lead the development of control algorithms, optical controls, and calibration procedures for hardware-based biological devices
  • Collaborate with the hardware, molecular biology, and software teams to develop scalable software architecture and automation tools
  • Writing software for data acquisition, retrieval, and processing
  • Evaluate and improve performance of the DNA based storage system software
  • Write C# code that is high quality, well tested, and ready for production
  • Contribute to peer-reviewed articles and patents that communicate CATALOG’s vision and protect its IP

Ideally, we are looking for someone with:
  • Demonstrated experience working with automated devices, systems, or robotics
  • Excellent knowledge of python, C/C++, C#/Java
  • Knowledge of microcontroller architectures
  • BS in Computer Science, Computer, Electrical, or related engineering field (Advanced degrees a plus)
