Position Summary: We are seeking a dedicated individual passionate about healthcare and technology to join Revere Health as an Interface Programmer. The ideal candidate thrives on using their expertise in interface management and programming abilities to drive meaningful advancements in healthcare technology. They will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, testing, and implementing crucial interfaces that facilitate seamless data integration and uphold data integrity across our health information systems. This is a technical role involving HL7 and FHIR standards. This role demands strong collaboration skills to work closely with internal teams and external vendors, ensuring successful project delivery and continuous improvement in healthcare integration solutions. As an Interface Programmer, you  will excel in developing and optimizing interfaces that connect diverse health information systems. You’ll play a critical role in designing, coding, and managing robust solutions that enhance the efficiency and reliability of our healthcare services.

 

Essential Job Functions: 

Key Responsibilities


  • Interface Design & Development: Plan, design and develop and optimize HL7 and FHIR interfaces to facilitate data exchange across healthcare systems.
  • Design and implement APIs and applications for seamless integration of healthcare data.
  • Lead the coding efforts using Java, JavaScript, to build scalable and high-quality interface solutions. Emphasis on testing and thorough documentation prior to code, tables, scripts, stored procedures and functions implemented.
  • Ensures that downstream processes are accounted for before implementing any code.
  • Follows change control processes to ensure no disruptions occur in live Participate in Upgrades, act as technical interface support when problems arise.

Technical Excellence:

  • Manage and optimize ETL processes and database management systems (e.g., Microsoft SSMS, SSIS).
  • Ensure proper documentation and adherence to best practices in code and interface development.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to interface performance and data integrity.
  • Utilize proper and efficient Java/JavaScript code to ensure clear, concise and accurate functional code creates a smooth, and accurate mappings ensuring best practice interoperability.
  • Innovate new solutions to optimize current processes and workflows

Project Leadership:

  • Oversee interface projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project timelines.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including interface analysts, development and analytics, healthcare providers, and vendors, to gather requirements and deliver effective solutions.
  • Provide training and support on interface technologies to ensure team proficiency and project success.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Stay updated with the latest developments in healthcare standards and integration technologies.
  • Innovate and implement new technologies to improve healthcare interoperability and data exchange.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance technical skills and knowledge. 
  • Review and analyze all workflows, code, and processes for optimized, efficient data transfer, and improved workflows for end users.

Qualifications:


Education: BS degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.


  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in multiple programming languages, including Java, and JavaScript. C++ and C# a plus. Expertise in HL7 v2, FHIR, SFTP, TCP/IP and other healthcare interoperability standards.
  • Experience with API development and integration, as well as database development and management (e.g., SQL), stored procedures etc...
  • Knowledge of interface engine tools and ETL processes.

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in healthcare interface programming and development.
  • Proven ability to manage and deliver complex projects involving multiple stakeholders.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to tackling challenges.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Organizational skills to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines effectively.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.

 

Hours: 9-5pm, Occasional weekend and off-hours required for upgrades, implementation of changes, and technical support when interoperability issues arise after hours.
