TITLE: Surgical Tech

LOCATION: Jacksonville, FL (Onsite)

SCHEDULE: Full-time, 40 hrs/week

SUMMARY: Attends the surgeon and surgical team peri-operatively to provide optimum peri-operative experience. Knowledge of anatomy, instrumentation, patient safety and sterile technique.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Otorhinolaryngology General/Gynecology Neurology Orthopedics Cardiovascular
  • Principles of aseptic technique; orientation of surgical procedures; preparation, operation and care of equipment and machines; understands patient and staff safety recommendations.
  • Capable of rapid accurate reactions; concern for quality patient care; communicates and works effectively with various levels of personnel; stands and walks major portion of work schedule; moderate to heavy lifting required; exposure to cuts, burns, infection, biohazardous chemicals and x-ray

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Completed High School (Diploma or GED) - required
  • Graduate of an accredited and/or hospital approved Surgical Technician program is required. Certification preferred.
  • Maintains Basic Life Support (BLS) competency. - Required
  • Additional specialty certification/training as required by the work area.
  • Must be proficient in liver, pancreas, kidney transplants, and surgery oncology procedures.
