The candidate will utilize skills and experience in purchasing, supplier management, and strategic procurement to ensure timely receipt of goods and services necessary for business operations and fulfillment of customer orders. This position is based out of the Pflugerville, TX headquarters, but also supports our facilities in North Austin and Pittsburgh, PA.

The ideal candidate has experience in a manufacturing and/or production environment with supplier onboarding, negotiation, upkeep of supplier certifications, scorecards, purchase order creation, and organization of records related to purchases. Interpersonal skills are critical for properly communicating with suppliers and internal stakeholders.

The Procurement Specialist will own the "Purchasing" process within the Quality Management System, to include the following:

Purchasing

  • Requesting quotations from suppliers or vendors for goods or services.
  • Creating and issuing purchase orders for:
  • Maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) goods and services. This includes shop and office supplies, repair parts, consumables, facilities equipment, service, etc.
  • Bill of Material (BOM) items, to be used in the manufacture of customer parts. This includes raw material, hardware, adhesives, machining tooling, fixtures, etc.
  • Outside Processing (OSP) services, used to modify or test fabricated parts. This includes heat treating, painting, plating, testing, etc.
  • Maintaining accurate records of purchases.
  • Providing status to necessary team members on the purchase of items or services.
  • Resolving invoice questions or issues with suppliers and internal accounting team.

Strategic Procurement

  • Aiding in identification of viable suppliers.
  • Onboarding new suppliers to the Approved Supplier List (ASL).
  • Evaluation of supplier performance (in conjunction with Quality and Project Management) and issuance of Supplier Scorecards to critical suppliers.
  • Strategic negotiation with suppliers and vendors for terms, agreements, price efficiencies, and others.
  • Maintaining and growing relationships with suppliers for mutual benefit.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations, Supply Chain, or related field, or equivalent years of applicable experience in procurement field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement.
  • Strong understanding of business processes in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to efficiently and accurately utilize software systems to manage workflow, including experience with Microsoft Excel, MRP/ERP systems, Accounting and Financial systems.
  • Strong math skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Highly developed attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical skills.

  • Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
