an international law firm is actively recruiting an experienced litigation paralegal to support its Products & Mass Tort practice in its Richmond, VA office. This position assists lawyers and practice advisors with preparing complex legal documents, mid-level legal research activities, and other tasks related to the Products & Mass Tort practice area.

Responsibilities & Accountabilities:


  • Generates revenue by meeting billable hour and other timekeeping expectations set forth by the firm.
  • Proactively secures billable work, collaborating across teams and offices as needed.
  • Maintains current and accurate daily time log; inputs time records into firm's time and accounting systems according to firm and outside counsel guidelines.
  • Follows ethical requirements set forth by the Rules of Professional Conduct of the State where work is performed.
  • Applies intermediate knowledge and application of Federal, State, and Local Rules; stays updated on rule changes and informs the team.
  • Identifies relevant laws, judicial decisions, legal articles, and other materials for assigned cases, business transactions, or regulatory matters.
  • Prepares written reports for lawyers to determine case strategies; assists with preparation of legal documents and supports lawyers during trials, client meetings, closings, and regulatory hearings.
  • Compiles data from reference materials such as virtual workrooms, digests, legal encyclopedias, and more; manages virtual workrooms and coordinates with client representatives on documentation.
  • Drafts correspondence, memoranda, and basic legal documents for internal and external use.
Qualifications:


  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.
  • Paralegal certificate, National Association of Legal Assistants certification, or state-specific specialty certificate preferred.
Experience:


  • Minimum of three years of paralegal or related business experience required; previous experience coordinating paralegal work or case clerks helpful.
Other Qualifications:


  • Intermediate knowledge and application of Federal, State, and Local Rules.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic technological and research skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, train others, and maintain professionalism.
  • Visual acuity for transcription, reading, and inputting information into computer systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, high stress tolerance, and ability to prioritize workload.
