Financial Service Representative II
Canandaigua National Bank & Trust

Location: Brighton, NY

What does a Financial Service Representative II do?

Responsible for working as an active member of the Community Office sales/service team; complying with operating policies and procedures and outside regulatory requirements established for the Retail Services function; developing customer relationships in order to take advantage of additional selling and cross-selling opportunities; communicating with management and staff personnel with respect to sales objectives, sales performance, and other factors affecting the sales/service effort; preparing various forms and reports and providing information; providing leadership and on-the-job training to Community Office staff.

Works as an active member of the Community Office sales/service team by performing various duties, of which the following is illustrative:

  • Supports and assists the Community Office Manager in creating a consistently exception customer service experience.
  • May assist Community Office management in sales development of branch staff.
  • Actively manages internal sales experience of the Community Office; creates motivation and sales culture.
  • Expected to independently solicit new business from present and prospective customers; maintains ongoing business relationships with present customers to take advantage of additional cross-selling opportunities.
  • Provides sales information on a timely basis in order that this information may be included as part of the sales performance reports.
  • Maintains an expert level knowledge of the features and benefits of all bank products and services in order to ascertain customer needs and to sell in conjunction with these needs. Provides direct service to customers of the bank with respect to deposit, loan, trust, and other miscellaneous products and services; approves or rejects loan applications within individual lending authority.
  • Complete commercial lending training to learn to sell and serve commercial loans and may independently enter commercial loans into the appropriate system.
  • Ability to serve as a backup on the Teller line as office traffic requires.
  • Complies with established operating policies and procedures to support the Bank’s adherence to outside regulatory requirements.
  • Assists customer in obtaining specialized services from other bank departments as necessary; provides help to customers with specific inquiries or service problems.
  • Provides periodic reports to the Area Manager and other groups as required throughout the Bank.
  • Provides guidance and on-the-job training to Community Office staff as requested.
  • Actively participates in the community in a manner that reflects favorably on the bank.

What is needed to be successful in this role?

A B.S. or B.A. degree in a related field normally required, or equivalent combination of education and work experience

Specialized banking education and training

Notary certification or willingness to obtain within 6 months.

A minimum of two (2) years' related banking experience normally required

Compensation range- $23-$24/hr.
The actual salary offered within the range is dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, qualifications, skills, level offered, and performance expectations.
