Prevention Peer Coach

This Full-Time position will work approximately forty (40) hours per week in a Chester office setting at HealthWays Resource Center. This position will assist the Program Coordinator with clerical and administrative duties. A High School Diploma or equivalent is required as well as a minimum of 1 year experience in a paid office experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.

A valid driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide recovery coaching to people misusing medications including opioids.
  • Provide recovery education to participants for every phase of the recovery journey from recovery initiation, recovery stabilization, and sustained recovery maintenance.
  • Provide a model for both people in recovery and staff by demonstrating that recovery is possible.
  • Assist recovery individuals to identify their personal interest, goals, strengths, and weaknesses regarding recovery.
  • Actively identify and support linkages to the community that support the recovery persons goals and interest.
  • Identify barriers to full participation in the community resources and developing strategies to overcome those barriers.
