Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant to join our finance team. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for assisting with various accounting tasks, including maintaining financial records, preparing reports, and reconciling accounts. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and be proficient in accounting software.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. General Ledger Management:
    • Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness of all financial data.
    • Prepare and post journal entries for month-end close.
  2. Account Reconciliation:
    • Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and other financial accounts.
    • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  3. Financial Reporting:
    • Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
    • Generate various financial reports as required by management.
  4. Accounts Payable and Receivable:
    • Process accounts payable invoices and ensure timely payment to vendors.
    • Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on overdue accounts.
  5. Budgeting and Forecasting:
    • Assist in the development of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
    • Monitor budgetary performance and report variances.
  6. Compliance and Audits:
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and standards.
    • Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and information.
  7. Expense Tracking:
    • Monitor and analyze expenses to ensure alignment with budgets and financial goals.
Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience:
    • 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a similar role.
    • Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks Online, Netsuite a strong plus).
  • Skills:
    • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
    • Ability to work on multiple entities at once.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
