The Phlebotomy Team Leader will:

  • Perform proper specimen collection, by confirming patient ID, collecting specimens in proper tubes, utilizing venipuncture/capillary techniques, and accurately labeling the specimens to ensure accurate patient results.
  • Provide customer service by answering broad technical questions and directing others to appropriate resources.
  • Manage specimen accessioning accurately and efficiently to provide quality specimens for laboratory testing.
  • Ensure accurate specimen processing to maintain specimen integrity.
  • Perform billing and registration procedures accurately and efficiently in order to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Communicate effectively and work cooperatively with others to optimize job performance and foster working relationships.
  • Act as liaison between phlebotomy staff, laboratory technologists, and management to ensure excellent customer service to our patient community. Perform duties including work of the same or similar nature of teammates.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent education
  • Five (5) years’ phlebotomy experience
  • Phlebotomy certification
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Familiar with office equipment
  • Strong organizational and team skills
  • Experience with Laboratory information systems (preferred)
