The Role and Responsibilities

As a Material Handler, you play a crucial role in ensuring that the production process runs smoothly by efficiently receiving,

storing, and transporting materials. Your responsibilities are integral to maintaining accurate inventories. By leveraging

your skills and experience in material handling, you support the production team by supplying necessary materials in a

timely manner, ensuring that all areas are continuously stocked with the required resources.


Your Key Areas of Impact

Material Receiving and Transportation: Using hand trucks, forklifts, hoists, and other material handling equipment, you

receive and transport materials to designated storage locations. You assist in unloading trucks, particularly for coils, and

ensure that materials are accurately weighed, checked against packing lists, and properly recorded for inventory

management. Your careful handling and organization of materials ensure that the production line is consistently supplied,

preventing any disruptions in manufacturing.


Inventory Management and Accuracy: You maintain accurate inventories of raw materials by recording their locations and

ensuring they are stored safely and efficiently. Your attention to detail in segregating materials by type, weight, and size,

as well as following established procedures for rejected materials, ensures that inventory levels are precise and that

materials are readily available when needed.


Safety and Compliance: Adhering to all safety rules, regulations, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements,

you contribute to a safe working environment. Your commitment to proper housekeeping and adherence to safety

protocols ensures that both you and your colleagues can work safely around moving mechanical parts and other potential

hazards.


Packaging and Shipping Support: In addition to handling raw materials, you assist in the packaging and palletizing of

finished goods, ensuring that they are ready for shipment. Your work in this area is essential for maintaining the flow of

products from production to distribution, helping to meet delivery deadlines and customer expectations.

Requirements:

Requirements

You’ve received your High School Diploma or equivalent and have a minimum of one (1) year of experience as a material

handler in a manufacturing work environment. You are forklift certified or have the ability to become certified within 30

days of hire. You will work with a high-level of integrity, confidentiality, organization, and time management.


The Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Travel

Your work is conducted in a dynamic manufacturing setting where exposure to noise, dust, fumes, and varying

temperatures is common, necessitating the use of appropriate personal protective equipment and adherence to safety

protocols. This job requires remaining in a stationary position 10% of the time, whether standing or sitting, and moving

about inside the facility. The ability to discern various sounds and alarms is crucial for maintaining safety and operational

efficiency. This job requires operating a computer 50% of the time. This job requires the ability to be able to lift to 40 lbs.
