Job DescriptionJob Description

KPC Promise Hospital of AMARILLO: To provide routine nursing care and services that support the care delivered to patients/residents requiring long-term acute or transitional restorative care, in accordance with the established nursing care procedures and as directed by the nurse.


QUALIFICATIONS:


1. Current CNA state Certification and must maintain Certification renewal in accordance

with the standards of the regulatory agency; Preferred

2. Prior experience in healthcare preferred;

3. Basic computer skills as evidenced by knowledge of Internet and Email;

4. Must be able to read, write, and speak English;

5. BLS certification through American Heart Association;

6. ANSI Food Handler certification, if required by state regulating body.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


1. Provides general aspects of patient/resident care that meet psychosocial or physical needs or both

simultaneously, within the NA’s scope of practice to include but not be limited to: feeding, bathing,

and dressing patients/residents; assisting with toileting; taking vital signs; serving meals; making

beds; keeping rooms tidy; setting up medical equipment and assisting with procedures; answering

call lights for help; and observing and reporting changes in a patient/resident condition or

behavior;

2. Meets current documentation standards and completes within shift;

3. Practices established infection control procedures;

4. Basic computer skills as evidenced by knowledge of Internet and Email;

5. Maintains confidentiality of all medical, financial, and legal information;

6. Works ethically and demonstrates good customer service;

7. Arrives promptly, regularly and reliably for assigned work schedule;

8. Promotes the mission, vision, and values of the organization.


NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


1. Performs other duties as assigned.


PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:


Physical: Walking - up to 50% Standing - up to 75% Kneeling - up to 25%

Sitting - up to 25% Pushing - up to 50% Bending - up to 25%

Squatting - up to 25% Pulling - up to 50% Reaching - up to 35%

Lifting - up to 50lbs Wrist/Finger Movements - up to 90%
