Position Description:

The Quote Specialist will coordinate customer requests with sourcing materials, parts, and equipment to generate customer quotations. They will need to respond promptly to requests for quotes based on customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Generate comprehensive quotes for customer projects based on provided drawings and Bills of Materials (BOM), adhering to SOMACIS quoting guidelines.
• Provide detailed pricing for project components, including raw materials, parts, assemblies, finished goods, and services.
• Liaise with suppliers to discuss material specifications, confirm BOM details, negotiate pricing, and explore alternative options.
• Understand and communicate contractual, technical, and terms/conditions aspects of projects. Stay informed on bid strategies and market conditions.
• Read and interpret specifications, drawings, and statements of work to accurately assess project requirements.
• Collaborate with internal departments (Sales, Production Planning, Engineering, Management, Purchasing) to ensure accurate quotes and orders.
• Adhere to Supply Chain policies and maintain confidentiality regarding purchasing strategies.
• Research and onboard new suppliers to enhance sourcing capabilities.
• Complete special projects and compile reports as required by Management. Support Management as needed.
• Conduct cost analysis to ensure competitive pricing and profitability.
• Meet Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to quote accuracy, timeliness, and cost-effectiveness.
• Provide regular project status updates to Management.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite and Outlook.
• Ability to multitask and manage workflow in a fast-paced environment.
• Positive attitude and team player.
• Strong organizational skills, problem-solving ability, and attention to detail.
• Excellent math and deductive skills.
• Ability to work well in a team environment and meet tight deadlines under pressure.
