Janitor

Description

The Janitor position is responsible for cleaning buildings, removing debris, and keeping areas neat and tidy. It also includes inventory management of all supplies and cleaning equipment for the position

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Sweep, vacuum, and mop floors in rooms, halls, and production floor.
• Dust and/or polish furniture, blinds, and office equipment.
• Vacuum and spot clean carpets and furniture using vacuum cleaner.
• Clean restrooms and fill dispensers.
• Report malfunction of bathroom fixtures, light fixtures, and/or damage to room and hall furnishings to Supervisor.
• Manage inventory and stock area with appropriate supplies.
• Order needed cleaning supplies from purchasing department.
• Advise Supervisor of any work orders for repair/maintenance.
• Move furniture, equipment, or fixtures as required.
• Repair small items as directed by Supervisor.
• Keep the front walkway and parking lot free of trash and debris.
• Proactively completes other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• Knowledge of cleaning equipment, products, techniques, and standards.
• Skill safely using cleaning products and equipment.
• Skill in following verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to communicate effectively with management and other employees.
• Ability to communicate in English.
• Attention to detail.
