Position Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven VP of Retail Sales to lead our retail division. The ideal candidate will not only manage a team of outside salespeople but also be instrumental in driving sales growth independently. Collaboration with product management/development, supply chain, and our marketing team is paramount to ensure alignment with customer needs, identify opportunities, and accurate forecasting.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

· Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve and exceed sales targets within the retail division (Hardware & Sporting Goods).

· Lead, motivate, and mentor a team of sales professionals, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.

· Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with major retailers. big box stores, distributors, and cooperatives, leveraging existing networks and actively seeking new opportunities.

· Drive CRM management with the sales team to ensure accurate opportunity tracking, pipeline management, and calendar coordination.

· Monitor and manage margin within the retail channel, optimizing pricing strategies and promotional activities to maximize profitability.

· Drive product innovation and development by providing valuable insights and feedback from the field to the product management/development teams.

· Collaborate closely with the marketing department to develop effective sales strategies, promotional campaigns, and marketing materials.

· Conduct regular market analysis to identify trends, competitive activities, growth, and product opportunities.

· Ensure accurate sales forecasting and pipeline management to support business planning and decision-making processes.

· Represent the company with professionalism and confidence in customer meetings, negotiations, and industry events.

· Stay updated on industry best practices, market trends, and regulatory requirements related to safety products and retail sales so you can be a resource and solution provider to our customers.

· Experience in managing independent manufacturers’ representatives.

Requirements:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE & OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

· Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing, or related field.

· Proven track record of success in sales leadership roles within the safety or PPE industry, with a focus on retail sales.

· Strong experience working with major retailers and big box stores, with established relationships and understanding of their procurement processes.

· Demonstrated ability to drive sales growth through proactive prospecting, strategic account management, and effective sales techniques.

· Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and persuade at all levels.

· Highly analytical with proficiency in sales forecasting, data analysis, and reporting.

· Proficiency in CRM software (HubSpot)and sales management tools, with the ability to oversee opportunity tracking, pipeline management, and calendar coordination.

· Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute actionable plans to achieve business objectives.

· Dynamic, results-oriented, and adaptable to changing market dynamics and business needs.

· Willingness to travel as needed.
