Responsibilities


The Driver is responsible for safely operating a truck & trailer to efficiently deliver equipment to the jobsite in a safe manner. Conduct written daily inspections of the truck and trailer before and after each shift. Conduct minor maintenance and repairs to the truck as needed. In addition to these responsibilities the driver must adhere to the following items below:


  • Maintains truck by conducting daily pre-trip & post trip checks and logging into written driving logs.
  • Perform maintenance on truck as scheduled or needed, checking oil and fluid levels to assure proper levels, tire checks, and greasing, etc.
  • Clean and maintain truck daily or as needed to prevent build up and to assure proper operation.
  • Lift heavy equipment/Lowboy driver
  • Ensure all equipment or materials are delivered to its proper location and safely secured.
  • Communicate with superintendent, foreman, or mechanic before each equipment pick up that equipment is working properly. Deliver any information gathered from the field back to the appropriate individual at the shop.
  • Ensure all safety standards are upheld. PPE is worn at all times when you are outside of your truck.
  • Participate when available in all of shop’s weekly safety meetings. It is mandatory to attend a safety meeting once a month. 
  • Fuel truck daily and log it into logbook.
  • Ensure bill of laden is correctly filled out when hauling Full Tilt equipment, MC Ready Mix equipment, or laser screeds/finishing equipment.
  • Ensure equipment is properly secured before and during each delivery.
  • Ability to follow all state driving laws and conduct yourself to Martin standards while driving. (No road rage etc.)
  • Assist in cleaning and maintaining equipment & trucks.
  • Assist maintenance department as needed to make necessary repairs to truck, shop, and equipment.


This position reports directly to the Equipment & Fleet Manager with a dotted line of responsibility to the Director of Field Services.
