Position: Construction Inspector


Reports to: Construction Manager


General Qualities:

- Has excellent communication and writing skills.

- Possesses a thorough knowledge of construction processes.

- Has excellent Microsoft Word and Excel. Ability to navigate through company internet-based systems.

- Ability to work in adverse weather conditions. Must be physically able to perform moderately strenuous tasks which include walking along rough terrain, climbing ladders, and lifting up to 60 pounds.

- Proactive self-starter capable of setting a positive example for the staff.

Technical Responsibilities:

- Experienced in construction inspection of earth excavation, installation of concrete moment slabs, sidewalk, asphalt paving, underdrains, stone wingwall removal, replacement and sealing, masonry repointing, pedestrian railing installation and maintenance & protection of traffic.

- Under the direction of the CM, the Construction Inspector will monitor and document project activities, confirming that the roadway and/or bridge project is being built in accordance with the plans and specifications.

- Must be proactive and alert project management professionals to issues that may come up in the field.

- Provide solutions to mitigate those problems.

- Review project schedules.

- Inspect various facets of the work on the construction site.

- Take field measurements and perform calculations.

- Verify that appropriate materials and construction processes are being used.

- Ensure that construction conforms to the project plans, specifications, and special provisions.

- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Responsive to Client and other KSE Department needs.

Requirements:

Certifications /Professional Experience Required

- Must have TCC

- NECEPT Field Technician Certification (ASPHALT) or NJSAT.

- NICET Level 1 or higher Certification in highway construction.

- American Concrete Institute Certification.

- PennDOT Field Technician Certification (Concrete) or ACI Grade 1 Field


Professional Development:

- Actively participates in professional development and training and licensing.
