In business since 1935, Daubert Chemical Company is a profitable, family-owned specialty chemical manufacturer and a market leader in the brands that we sell to our end users and distributors. We are seeking an experienced IT Director.
Job Summary:
As the Director of IT, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation, and maintenance of our organization's network infrastructure. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the stability, security, and scalability of our network systems, as well as leading a small team of skilled network professionals. This role currently travels between 2 company locations to support end users and must interface with remote employees as needed; main office is currently in Burr Ridge; the plant is located at 4700 S. Central Avenue in Forest View, IL. The role reports to the VP CFO.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive network strategy that aligns with the company's business objectives.
- Oversee the day-to-day operation of the IT network, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and make recommendations for network enhancements and upgrades.
- Design, plan, and implement LAN/WAN and wireless networks.
- Develop and manage the IT network budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and efficiency.
- Configure, install, and maintain network hardware and software, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless devices.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal efficiency and uptime.
- Implement and manage network security measures to protect against unauthorized access and data breaches.
- Establish and maintain relationships with vendors and service providers.
- Evaluate and negotiate contracts for network-related products and services.
- Provide technical support to end-users and resolve network-related issues in a timely manner.
- Supervise and mentor IT Support Specialist.
- Manage outside contractors’ work as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required.
- Proven experience (minimum 5 years) in a leadership role overseeing IT network operations in a mid-size company with more than 1 location.
- In-depth knowledge of network architecture, protocols, and security standards.
- Experience with fully integrated MSPs
- Strong knowledge of Office 365 applications, services, and administration tools.
- Proficient in configuring and maintaining Cisco-Meraki Network firewalls.
- Deep knowledge of EDR technologies e.g. SentinelOne
- Experience managing MFA solutions and conditional access
- Strong knowledge of Active Directory architecture and best practices.
- Strong knowledge of VMware architecture, configuration, and best practices.
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CCNA, CompTIA Network+, Microsoft) are a plus.
- Proficient in configuring and customizing SharePoint sites, lists, libraries, and workflows.
- Experience with configuring and troubleshooting wireless infrastructure, including access points and controllers.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
