Summary
Responsible for performing administrative support, and customer service duties within a law firm. Generally responsible for assisting paralegals prepare for trials and/or execution of court cases. Answer phone calls and greet clients, contributing to fact-checking and compiling case evidence. Communicate with court employees to confirm court dates. Focus on administrative tasks for law firm such as filing systems, legal terminology, data entry, office technology and software. Organize files and documents for review. Take client messages, schedule meetings with clients, witnesses, and other parties and collect information from clients.

Roles & Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Meets with paralegals, and clients to discuss assigned cases or projects.

Assist in drafting legal documents including routine pleadings and motions, affidavits, and interrogatories, files motions and pleadings according to judicial procedures.

Researches and analyzes statutes, regulations, legal articles, judicial decisions, and other legal sources; provides written analysis to paralegals.

Interviews clients and witnesses and prepares summaries of their statements.

Prepares, schedules, organizes, stores, and retrieves case files, save records, efile, which may include evidence, exhibits, depositions, and calendaring depositions to include links, pleadings, exhibits, and other items.

Assists paralegal with trial preparation, which may include attending trials and hearings.

Manages and resolves client bill, settlement disbursal(s), assist with invoices

Collect, organize, and manages medical for assigned client(s)

Convert and/or maintain law practice management software

Sends out reminders regarding discovery due and efile motions

Offers general administrative support to paralegal

Maintains exceptional communication with client(s)

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Understanding of legal language and principles, research methods, court pleadings and processes, and other related matters.

Basic understanding of court and administrative proceedings and documentation.

Thorough understanding of lawsuit summaries, litigation files, and proper maintenance of all legal records.

Qualifications (knowledge, skills, and abilities)
High School Diploma or equivalent

Two (2) years experience working in an office environment

Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office

Bilingual in Spanish

Preferred Skills
Associate degree in Paralegal Studies or 4 direct years experience working under an attorneys supervision

Paralegal Certificate

Personal Injury experience

Prior experience in a legal setting
