Summary of Position: The Dental Office Assistant should command a professional, friendly and polite manner. As part of the dental team, the Office Assistant’s role is to assist in the smooth and efficient running of the practice, to adhere to protocols at all times in line with the company strategy, goals and values. Cross training required in multiple administrative support functions including dental records, scanning, and PHI request and messaging to both clinical and non-clinical staff.

Minimum Qualifications: Ability to read, write and understand the English language. Communicate effectively. Interacts in a friendly, professional manner with a wide range of patients, operations staff, physicians and other departments in a friendly, professional manner. Knowledge of dental office protocols/procedures. Ability to work well under pressure is essential. Ability to communicate and work effectively with the other physicians and peers. Ability to learn and retain information regarding patient care procedures. Familiarity with basic computer operations, EDR software. Ability to work successfully with minimum supervision. Must be able to work seated for several hours at a time to provide clinical services to patients. Frequent movement within the office handling patient flow. Ability to maintain a neat and well-groomed appearance.

Experience: 1 year office experience preferred

Education: High school diploma or GED

Licensure: None

Certifications: BLS/OSHA/HIPAA

Key Responsibilities

  • Scans and files paperwork for the Site Supervisor and that specific dental site.
  • Answer and respond to telephone calls with professionalism.
  • Uses script properly as needed when on the phone.
  • Manage recall system.
  • Willingly perform other tasks as assigned by the Site Supervisor.
